Smile A question on amount of food and poo

Can someone tell me does a Beardies normal excrement look like chook poo? Is that how it should look normally. How often should they go. Im trying to find out all this to watch for him ever getting sick
How many insects should a 6 month old be eating.
My fello had 9 crickets-medium and then 10 mealies, and then salad is that ok?

oh and another thing, If you have the liquid vitamins with added calcium. Im giving this to him about 3 times a week
Does he need more clalcium or is that too much?

if u mean half brown and half white, yep thats normal.
very loose smelly stools indicate parasites, when mine had worms i saw wriggly worms.
by smelly, it will smell like poo, but shouldnt bring tears to ur eyes and clear a room
mine poo every day, when they were 6 months old they'd generally go twice a day.

mealies are high in fat and the chitin shell can impact (constipate) them, theyre not recommended in large amounts.

woodies are a good feeder to add variety,....at 6 months mine were eating about 30-60 crickets a day if i remember correctly,..they needs lots of protien to grow,..

too many vitamins arent good, beardies can overdose on them. they shouldnt get anything that contains vitamin a.
calcium should be given more often than vitamins, so its recommended you get a good calcium supplement so you have more control,...
repcal (pink label) is a good one, no added phosphorus but added vitamin D3.
D3 helps process the calcium they eat into a form they can use, but doesnt eliminate the need for a UVB light....

I have vitamins and calcium
How pften do you give the vitamins then-I spray his food, he will not eat the dust
I also have the liquid calcium.....Just add to drinking water?
It says 1ml for 1kg... Do I add 1 ml every day?
I got the mealies as the crickets I ordered arrived dead, and needed to feed him.
Ive heard they are high in fat, but ok for a growing fella

does 1ml for 1kg mean 1kg of animal or food?

if he drinks his water that might work, otherwise i'd mix a bit up with water and mist his salad with the calcium enriched water if hes eating that,...

@ 6 months i gave calcium 3-4 days a week and vitamins once, but that was dusting a full meal of bugs with it, i have no idea how much to use of the liquid stuff.

Hey Andrea,
Add the liquid calcium to his water but not daily. Too much calcium is just as bad as having none.
What he's eating (insects) is fine except proberly a few too many mealies for one sitting.
His poop is ment to look like a chook poop just not really runny.
