basic incubator set up

hi there guys and gals,

with a possible pending egg laying i am looking at setting up an incubator.

i was going to set it up in a brokoli (spelling??) box. is it is foam with good thermal properties.

from there i was thinking heat cord - i am unsure of what wattage to go for - any advice?

and some thermostat. either the microclimate ministat or a thermostat plus.... any opinions?
does the microclimate have a plug socket or do you need to hardwire the the heat cord to the thermo.

basically i dont wanna spend too much... any suggestions and reasons why would be appreciated.

What species is it for, I've successfully used an enclosure to incubate various lizard eggs in.

Get the 25 watt heat cord. It should easily reach the temps you're after for the size that a Brocoli box is. Have it plugged into a Microclimate dimming thermostat and all should be good. I think all other thermostats are designed to be mounted on walls which wouldnt work in a styrofoam box. Avoid the "black box" probe thermostat as they're quite unreliable.
