Well there is officially day 2 with my new addition, my central bearded dragon thanks to koubee.
Seems to be settling in ok and finidng its way around its new enclosure. Little bit slow on the chasing crix and roaches side of things. Should probably have eaten a tad more I would have thought.
My query is this.......he seems to be hiding a bit too much under one of the pieces of cage furniture. Is it a) advisable to remove it as he likes climbing on it too, but can also hide in it or b) leave it until it settles in more????
Spends a period of time out of it though but likes to have a sleep in there too. Temps at the moment (mid arvo) are around 32 - 32.5 at the warm end.
If anyone could help this would be greatly appreciated. Has been sprayed and has plenty of greens etc.
Have attached a pic of cage decoration. Thanks. So basically the fact it is hanging out underneath this piece of cage furniture what would this indicate??? Too warm???? |

My beardie has never once used the hides provided, prefers to be out in the open even when sleeping but he's in a closed off bedroom so he's not too disturbed. All I can say is that the beardie could be feeling stressed in his big new home with lots of even bigger creatures leering at him all the time. JMO |

I thought it would take at least a week, even two to settle in. Got all the basic husbandry practices noted and set up, food etc all good.
The enclosure size is 147 wide x 65 high x 40 deep.......ok??? |

But that may be why these guys have grown so fast and eat me out of house and home. |

Maybe try feeding him in a seperate container, like the one you took him home in.
Don't stress, he'll be fine.
