for the last hour almost.
one of my dragons has been sitting, basicly not moving, with its mouth wide open and tongue hanging out?
is this normal?
something wrong?
or am i just being paranoid?
he also didn't eat as much today as he normally does.
halp!

Mine does a similar thing. Its usually whilst basking - is yours under his heat lamp?
I think I heard it was a type of panting to regulate their temps.

yeah, he is on the hot side.... not right under the heat but close...
he should be asleep tho!
and if he is too hot, why doesn't he move?

Noone said they were the most intelligent creatures. He might simply like the feeling of the warmth, but the panting keeps him getting too hot. Just like we might like sitting in the sun but get too hot - we move, they can pant.
But keep an eye on him, in case it isn't that. But mine do that too, well, it sounds the same anyway.

They open there mouth when they overheat to get rid of excess heat (get there temps down). By rights he should move (maybe he don't wanna get cold lol). Perfectly normal, just watch he dosn't overheat though. If he's still sitting there I would be turning heat off for a little while to cool him down myself that's only if he looks like he's really overheating and for some silly reason won't move.
