Beardie feeding times

Is it ok to feed beardies in the evening?

I am just wondering if they eat and then go straight to sleep, could that be a problem with food sitting undigested in their gut overnight..? Or does it not matter what time of day they eat.

its better to feed them in the afternoon so that they get enough heat to digest their food but i have fed mine in the evening and nothing bad happened... go for it :-)

if you are going to feed them at 9pm then its best to turn on its lights earlier so that it can get heat quicker rather than wait 2 more hours.. my lights go on at 7am and turn of at 6 and my beardie is as active as ever so it shouldn't be a problem with him/her... just keep in mind that it does need heat to digest its food so more heat is better...

i would recogmend 8am-9pm for you unless you get home later. and it shouldnt be a problem for your dragon at all but it might take some time getting used to the changes... there should be around 12 hours day and 12 hours night..roughly

If I feed my dragons at 7pm and their lights go off at 9pm, is that enough time?

yeah that would be enough time... but some dragons may not accept the lights goin out so late so just keep an eye on him (my dragon took 2 weeks before getting used to the timing)... but if you want to change it make the night hours shorter not morning...
good luck and PM me for anymore questions...

put on your lights at 8am and put them off at 8 (if you can).. there should be around 12 day and 12 hour night but dont keep his lights on for too long... mine sometimes goes to sleep with the lights on as well..

I am just being blonde or did all that not make any sense? Lilmiss doesnt get home until 9pm and was asking it it was ok to feed the beardie then, then give it an hour before lights out, Armand was saying have the lights go out at 8pm, which of course would put the beardie to sleep, therefore not being able to be fed at 9pm.
Lilmiss & miss B, I would have the lights come on a little earlier in the morning and feed before you go to work. I wouldnt be feeding right before the beardie goes to sleep, as the food will just sit undigested in his stomach, which isnt a healthy thing. My lights come on around 6.30 in the morning and so I usually feed in the morning, leaving them all day to digest. My lights go off around 8pm, though my beardies have usually put themselves to bed by that stage.

Cheers
