30 degrees is the ambient temperature?

Do you have a basking temperature?

The basking temp should be at least 35 - 37c

Twitchng might be due to a lack of calcium, this can be caused by not having a UV light and a poor diet.

I would throw out the thermostat so he can get a decent basking temperature, 40C or more is good at the hottest point under the light, a branch positioned under the light will allow him to get to these temperatures.

If you dont have a UV light already get a mecury vapour bulb it can heat and provide the required UV. Dusting crickets occasionally with calcium powder will also help.

beardies like a body temp of around 37C there is no way of getting that with a 30C basking spot.

Try raising your basking temp.

Have you been dusting the prey with calcium?

If there is no change after raising the temps I would suggest seeing a Reptile Vet.

What about hydration ? Drip a little water on his nose and mist him regularly and whats the temps at your cool end ? Have the other beardies acted in any abnormal way of late ?
