Exclamation Beardie still doesnt eat her veggies!

I have had my female bearded dragon for a long time now and she still doesnt eat any of her veggies. I have tried putting in dieing/dead woodies in and on top of the leafs, put in the veggies nearly everyday, moved it (trying to attract her with it) etc.
Please help me, i thought she would get over it and eat her healthy veggies !

P.S. She is an eastern beardie, over a foot long and she only likes anything alive!

Any suggestions and advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Myles

I just used tweezers to wave it around or shove it in the beardies face when I had problems, sounds like you've tried that though.
You can get those vibrating food dishes, not cheap (so it'd better work if you do buy one!) but its an option.
What vegies are you using? You just say leafs (leaves), are you using any brightly coloured vegies? Mine love nearly anything red, yellow or orange (dandelion flowers, corn, capsicum, carrot) so mix it together and they should eat some greens aswell (if you haven't already tried that).

Try putting a couple of meal worms in. Place them on top so your beardie sees them, the mealies will bury under the leaves, making the leaves wiggle. Not too many as they are fattening....
Have u tried the leaves off the carrots and hibiscus flowers? They love em

A bit off topic, but I read that the main problem with mealies isn't the fat content (would be a problem if its the staple diet), its the fact that they are high in chitin (sp.), the stuff they're shells are made of. This can cause internal blockages in smaller lizards, but a few won't be a problem for your big beardie.

No its not off topic, as the mealies wriggle in the salad enticing the beardie..if youd of read the whole thing I wrote, and THEY are high in fat. Ive been told that many times from people on here, when Ive asked about them

Don't feed the beardies for one day, and offer it veggies, if it is hungry it will eat the veggies. She isn't stupid, she just has food preferences.

mealworms are not good because 1. they are too hard and 2.they have been know to cause damage in beardies because when they are eaten they are alive and just keep eatting. Dont risk it other things can be used to make the salad move and if the beardies are as smart as mine they will search for the insects anyway. Best thing is to concentrate on the problem at hand the salad. have you tried endive? what veg have you tried? how do you offer it ? and do you wet it first?
