hey mines a bit the same im just leaving him and like every 2nd week im geting him under the light and feeding him but thats only cos im worried i reckon you prob dont have to do that but i am just in case
oh and keep in mind that if you keep trying to feed him(like every day) ur gonna disterbe him and his not gonna get a rest and his gonna stress out and die
i think just leave him in his old cage and let him sleep....bearded dragons dont really like changing cages

Hello

Hello,

Your dragon is only 5 months old? Hm, I personally don't recommend letting that young of a dragon brumate normally. The main reason is they usually don't have enough fat storage on them to survive through a brumation period.
Had he had any other type of symptoms? You had mentioned possibly a respiratory infection? As suggested earlier, if you have any doubts definitely take him to a vet as unresolved RI's can make them very ill. Do you hear any clicking or popping noises like he is congested or anything?
Always make sure they are very healthy before entering a brumation phase. I am not in Australia, so, I am not sure if baby dragons brumate. I would figure they wouldn't fully brumate like the adults would. Plus, nature takes careful account for breeding only during the spring & summer so they will be large enough for brumation in the winter or have better chances for survival.

Tracie
