Boof Male MD No Feed Since 9/4/07???

Ok guys?? So Boof hasn't wanted a feed since 9th of April. I am just thawing out a Medium Rat for him right now. Boof is approx 2 1/2 yrs old. He is still very restless, and prob looking for a naughty?? I have wasted at least 3 or 4 med rats in the last 4 wks?? Hope he eats this one. If this one is not eaten tonight, the temps will be getting lowered for the cooling time. Cheers Cheryl

We have an adult male stimmie that has not eaten since 4/1/07. That is how he is regardless of temps. He will breed this season and resume eating about september. So dont panic your MD will be fine untill spring if he does not eat now.

Actually, I chucked a rat in with Boof tonight. Just checked now and he's scoffed it. Will keep the temps up for another 3days to allow for digestion, and then start turning temp down. Cheers Cheryl

You need to decide whether you want to breed your animals or not. If you want them to feed all through the winter you should check your night time temps and make sure they're warm enough. I have a pair of 2.5 yr old MDs at the moment but want to grow them out to 3.5 yrs prior to breeding them, so have night temps up around 22 - 23 degrees and all my snakes are feeding very well.
