Ok. I am interested in breeding Bearded dragons. I have a Female 19 month old beardie. Here are my many questions.
1. Is my bearded dragon Old enough to breed (19 months)
2. When does the breeding season start?
3. when would be the best time to bring a male into her life?
4. How do i go about making them breed, like what temps what enclosure ect.
5. How long would it take to fall pregnet
6. How long would it take for eggs to be laid
7. How long would it take for them to hatch.
8. Do you know any links to make a good incubator?
9. what do i do when they hatch or when they are eggs what do i do then?
10. Any other tips/hints i would need to know? Like what age male to get, whos enclosure should they breed in (hers or his) ect.
Thank you so much for any replies. |

1.it doesnt matter about age its more the size
2.you will have to cool them from may till july then wake them up with wammer temps and they will just do it.
3.after you cool them both.
4.you have to cool them and then slowly bring the temps back up and notice the male wants to mate eg.black beard, head bobing and arm waving.
5.about 1 month after they mate she will lay my girl last season laid in 22 days after the got done.
6.about 1 months
7.usualy about 60 to 65 days but ive had them hatch out at 52 days
8.nope but its easy do a search you will find heaps.
9.well whe she lays you carfuly take the eggs out and put them into the containers you will be incubating them in and when they hatch have a small 2ft enclosure set up same as adults exept with paper towl as the substrate.
well in my preference get the male asap so you know he is nice good and health insted of later on this year, with the age thing go for one thats about over 2 years old,you should put the male into her tank and then he will start doing all the head bobing stuff, arm waving and then attempt to mate.
hope this helps.

All animals are built, born to breed.........unless you have a husbandry problem....they will breed
Keeping the adults separate 2 months prior or during winter ,letting them consume as much as they can to make sure the female especially is in peak condition is a must........eggs will take a lot out of her.so feed up!
Feeding up before they go into brumation is also necessary ....as there body consumes while sleeping....
Basically having a good feeding plan.....enables you to breed
What you put in you get out!!!!!
