Would like to know if anyone here uses bricks in their python enclosures as a way to create elevated positions with the enclosure?
or would it be best to use something that is easier to keep clean
cheers

Do u mean, like, make a step in the enclosure floor? Or u want to make a high platform, half way up the enclosure?
You could use a cardboard box.....

| | | | Yeah bricks work ok, i used em before i got some decent rocks and found that the 'sharpish' edge on the brick, provided a good 'scratching post' for him to rub against while sloughing/shedding.

I don't have the pics any more but it looked like a tile sitting on bricks very pretty . |

heres the link http://www.aussiepythons.com/index.p...ic&t=11694
there are some pics of the finished rock,on the 2nd page of that thread.
If you've got some spare time it would be worth making one.
hope that helps man, it would look better then plain old bricks....and hold heat.

also to add to this topic
my friends makes bricks and he has bought around some brick things they use in bbqs theyre larger than bricks but hold the heat well but take a couple of days to heat up
im just wondering would they be ok to use as a flooring as they would be constantly warm (once heated) and have a kind of ruff surface

just larger and dont sit as high
shouldnt be too hard to clean as i would just sit them in there against each other so they can be taken out easily so i could take em outside and hose em down
only problem is id have to have enough so that i could be warming a couple up a day or so before i do a complete clean of the cage every couple of days so that they arnt cold
ill try n find out what theyre called and get some pics up on here
