Would work for any species .
If aboreal species - make it tall if not make it so it has more floor area.
Hope this helps

For this you can use a phillips spotbeam globe (I think thats the name) come im diff wattages just point the fitting so the beam heats the hide to desired temp and vola no need for a fitting right above the basking area

Great idea bitey. Alternatively you could use a ceramic edison screw heat source on a theromstat.

It shouldn't, but there is a chance. So long as you put a substrate on top of the heat mat you should void that situation. I'd put a thermometer on the heat mat as well as in the environment at the hot and cold ends just to be safe. As I said before, a thermostat controlling the overall temp might be a worthy addition. Not sure if the heat mat will heat the entire enclosure.

There is no need to heat the whole enclosure you just need a spot that reaches your desired "basking temp' imo, in one of my older enclosures I stuck a heat mat to the underside of a basking platform with a fluro to light the enclosure and that worked well,.

Stick the probe where the temp is at an avarage ( use thermometer) so that it adjust the gradiant of the whole enclosure not just the floor.

If you are using this setup for a diamond id recommend you put some sort of UV light inside the enclosure.

Inside. Directly in the middle of the enclosure.
