Just go to your local hardware store. It's 'aviary mesh' and the squares come in different sizes, anywhere from 10mm to 50mm. You don't have to buy a whole roll, most places sell it by the metre

get the wire gutter guard, (it is mouse and snake wire in a small roll) costs about $8-$9 a 10 meter roll

bunnings, I bought a roll to make up tops for mice breeding tubs, 10 meters goes a long way..

yes, the only thing i can find at mitre ten is like a 10m roll for $$60

I used some metal gutter-guard from Bunnings for light covers, but it is a very time consuming process, and it took me a while to get all the little sharp edges smooth...
