Today i was taught how to make calcium powder by crushing up egg shells (baking/grilling them first to get rid of the membrane) and then blending it with some cuttlefish until its a fine powder.
Would this be adequate for turtles and other reps that need calcium sprinkled on their food?

you should make sure you leave the cuttlefish bone in water for a day, then rinse it and it should have no more salt.
never really heard of using eggshells for calcium powcer, why not buy the good stuff. only cost you 15 dollars and last a long time

Egg shells are one of the richest sources of calcium. If you look at Repti- Cal all it is, is ground oyster shells with added vitamin D3.
Although cuttlefish is high in calcium it is relatively poorly absorbed, where as the egg shell calcium is absorbed very well.
So along with a multivitamin supplement I would not see it is a problem at all.

Thanks for the replies guys
I don't actually own turtles or any other reptiles that require calcium supplements but just thought i'd put it out there for those who may be able to or interested in using it.
(I'm a WIRES member and was suggested this calcium mix as part of a recipe for abandoned chicks that need to be fed)
