Ceramic heat emitter wattages

I bought some 60W heat emitters thinking of them like light globes but they're a bit cold at this time of the year (one heats the warm end up to about 25 degrees). I'll save them for when it gets a bit warmer, but I need some stronger ones for winter. Sydney doesn't get too cold, it probably gets to around 15-18 in our unit. Will 100W emitters be hot enough or should I go for 150?

I'm heating two 4x2x2's and one a bit smaller on the height and width. They have normal wall thermostats (on/off).

Cheers

lol Phoebe with 1500 posts I would have thought you could answer it yourself haha, just kidding. Ive had both a 100w and 150w in a similar sized enclosure and although both did the job, the 150 was better at keeping a constant temperature because once the thermostat turned on the 100w took a bit too long to heat everything up

If you already have a bunch of 60w, maybe wire in another fitting, per cage 2 x 60w.

i live in sydney and have an exo-terra glas enclosure and seem to get good heating range from using a 60w CHE and a heat mat (both on thermostats)

If You Are Heating A Snake Enclosure I Would Go For A Heat Emitter And Matt Combo Or If Its A Lizard Such As A Monitor Etc I Would Go For The 150w Heat Emitter At Least, I Personally Use A 250w Heat Emitter In My Ackie Tank In Central Qld But It Is A 6x2x2

This can be a difficult question to answer as so much depends on the ambient room temperature, enclosure materials, ventilation etc etc. I would probably try both and see whether the 150 was required, I've made my opinion clear on how dangerous over-provisioning heat can be (i.e. thermostat fails, animal dies).
