Hi all!
I've noticed in many reptile shops and pet shops that hatchlings / juvenile pythons are being kept inside of a larger enclosure, often there are three or more click clacks inside the enclosure and or being stacked on top of.
My question is that, I realize these shops have huge over heads and can't keep everything on heat cord or mats BUT does anyone use these set ups at home?
I have read a few articles that are saying hatchling and juvenile pythons should be kept at almost a constant temp with hardly any gradient? Is this correct?
I ask this as many people's hatchlings including mine have gone off their food, due to such low ambient air temps this time of year.
If the click clack is placed under or near the heat source in a larger enclosure, how does such a young snake regulate its temps?
If this is such a bad idea how come so many shops are keeping hatchlings like this!?
Any info would be a huge help.
Thanks.

hey I'm no pro but l keep mine on top of my large enclosures to save room and heating costs, slightly larger click clacks mean they can regulate their heat by movining away!
Good luck

I have my 2 Woma Hatchlings in click clacks inside a large enclosure, I use a ceramic heat emitter controlled by a thermostat, I've got a dual probe thermometers in side each click clack and both register at, Hot end: 32ºc and Cool end: 24º. The click clacks are a decent size, so it works out ok.
