coastal help

hey all. for the last few times i have tried to feed my male coastal he has taken the food and constricted it and then just leaves it. he has done this a few times the the past but eats a couple of days after. i was just woindering does any one no why this happens???

I could be wrong but he could be seeing it as a threat, "killing" it and leaving it because he's not hungry, it's winter.

ok...its just that the last time that this happened i gave him a new one and he ate it straight away. where as my other snake does not
