Our juvi coastal has had a problem shed, we've got most of it off, but we cant get it off its head, we have soaked it and its still stuck on there. Dont want to force it off and hurt it.
Any advice?

Age/Gender: 24  | | | | i have been told by a trustful source, that you rub a oil on them, its called "Glycerine"... wipe a bit on the skin u cant get off... u may have to get it froma chemist, dunno if the supermarket will have it, but u could try them...

Get a pillowcase, soak it in warm water, put the snake inside and stick it back in the enclosure, mist it occasionally with a spray bottle and leave the snake there for an hour or two. You'll find it'll get the old skin more pliable and thus making it easier to get off, it the snake hasn't already done it itself :wink: - watch the eyes though. Good luck. |

|  | Ford loving Snake Subscriber | Join Date: Mar-06 Location: Penrith, NSW | | | | We fixed the problem finally i we soaked him a tub of warm water then i held the bit of skin and let him pull himself out of it he also had it stuck to his head so we soaked him again and peeled it off his head until we got it all off
