Yeah; the water method. Gives the rodent 'body temp' so the snake will be more inclined to go for it and not your hand.

I just take them straight out of the freezer Arbok and put them into a small bowl with hot tap water for 5 mins or untill fully thawed through! Very fast and efficent it dosent take long at all. You just have to be sure it is thawed ALL the way through as feeding your snake frozen food isnt good!!

Hot water will defrost the middle if you soak for long enough.

We let our thaw naturally to room temp and then feed.
Get them out first thing in the morn and start feeding from late morning on.

Bucket of hot tap water, put the rats/mice into a plastic bag, like a frezzer bag and then immerse that into the hot water/ Make sure they are fully defrosted prior to feeding them to your snakes.

Just into hot tap water - no bag needed, and feed wet and warm. No need to feed them dry, and the water in the fur helps to hydrate your snake. If you leave them to thaw out at room temp or even in the fridge, bacterial action begins the decay process and goes on for too long. If you just place in hot water they will thaw very quickly (within minutes for mice and rats) - this greatly reduces the chances of causing your animals problems, especially if you don't know how fresh it was in the first place. And some of the stuff from petshops can be of very dubious quality... it may have thawed and been refrozen previously, especially if it has been transported interstate.

Jamie.

I use to leave it to sit and thaw out to room temp then hold it in my hands for a minute so it heats up a bit then feed it to the snakes. After reading this post though, i will be doing it with the hot water.

as was said earlier hot water is best way but be carefull not to leave to long as this can poach your defrosting mice/rats which usually results in rupturing of mouse/rat intestines spilling out and making hell of a mess
