Diamond Python Feeding

Hi i have a 8 week old diamond python that i bought a week ago.Last sunday he feed and for the last day and night he has been in his hide. The hide is half on a heat mat and half not. This is my first python and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about it...Is it normal? If someone had some advice that would be great.

Thanks

He is using the heat to digest his food and hiding in a secure place to do it (the hide).
Temperature okay? No need to worry.
