Diamonds fighting

My father inlaw has 3 Diamonds, 1 male 2 females & he has an issue with them fighting.
2 of them(1male & a female) have been housed together the majority of the time (1male & a female) until of late where he seperated the 2 and put the male in with the other female.

When he tried to seperate the 2nd pair the female attacked the male. He got them apart and all was fine other than the male having a complex
He decided they might have an issue so a couple weeks later he put the male back in with the original female. The same thing again, when he went to seperate them for feeding again, the female grabbed the male.

Has anyone else had experiences like this?

No Rat smells, i thought that he may have had the rats around when he tried to move them. But he done this prior to getting the rats ready.

...if he has to seperate them for feeding and the females are attacking the male when he is being removed, would it fix the problem if he removes the female first instead of the male?

Yeh, that's why I ask the question. Surely someone has had a similar experience.
I even suggested he might just like it rough.

...could it be that they are now used to the routine - when it's seperating time it's also feeding time - feeding response...

are you sure the female is a female diamond python rather than a male? Males will fight come mating time.

I agree with Aslan, it does not sound like there is any combat or fighting intent, just a feed response.

Thanks Guys, seems to be about it. Looks as if the routine is the same everytime when feeding.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread Dee4

But.....

Has anyone actually witnessed first hand known male Diamond pythons engaging in combat?
I thought unlike other sub species, male diamonds didnt combat.
