Should be fine, just make sure when it gets warmer that the cool end stays cool. As far as i know a hot part of around 32C is all that is needed for pythons, but hotter will be fine.

I am assuming that with a 75 Watt infra-red most of the enclosure is in the cool zone with only a narrow area of 30 plus heat is obtained? I had a similar prob with my enclosure except mine is more upright then low and long. I found the poor transference of heat not a prob if the dopey coastals got off their butts and ventured to the top of the enclosure, where it was warm, (This wasn't always the case and they spent most of their time in the cooler zone!) after a couple of bouts of mild respiratory illness, sneezing, mucous etc I increases the wattage to a 250 Watt ceramic which I found punched the heat further into the enclosure. The bottom is still very much at the cool end of the scale, 20-25deg cel, (over night) but there is a greater area of temps around 28 - 35 deg cel which can be enjoyed. And the fact the weather is getting warmer I have had no more probs with sniffles. My point is, Finally! Just because you have a small area of adequate heat, as the Vet told me, pythons don't always know whats good for them and will not venture to the warm area before they get a little off colour, You might need to increase the wattage or add a heat mat on the ground for them to be lazy on!

thanks for the input.I'm really not happy with temperatures im getting i've tried different wattage and it gets to hot or not hot enough.i think ceramics are definately the way to go as i have friends who swear by them.I've also been told to use microclimeateB2 thermostat
(pulse thermo)with ceramics.....has anyone had success with these?
