Unhappy Escapee

We came home to an empty snake enclosure on the weekend .
Does any one have any tips on finding an escaped carpet? We have a fairly large house and have looked almost every where!!

I know how you feel we lost our beautiful tully jungle during last week as well and same have a large house with millions of hidy holes to search and still no luck. Main things you can try is blocking up any escapes outside (under doors etc) if it's still hopefully inside. Put poweder in between rooms (will leave tracks if they go past). If possible leave some food out with a warm spot, do spot light checking at night (keep all the rooms dark and walk in simultainsly). Check anywere in your house that has a warm spot (behind fridges, dryers, washing machines etc). Other than that if you still have no luck you'll be at my stage of your house is completely trashed and still no snake. So now I'm just hopeing she is still in here and not ouside and gone and that eventually one day I'll find her somewere (hears hopeing) and I hope you find yours.

As carpets are arboreal look up high on top of bookcases, wardrobes, along the top of window ledges and on top of curtains....anywhere high, think like a python and go high and safe out of danger and wait till all is quiet to make a move, get a torch and check out between the ceiling and roof of your home
As Allana says check out warm spots
Good luck

Search upwards. The joys of finding the little crevices inside your home that you never knew existed. Good luck finding it.

I dread the day I have my first escapee

From what I've heard, snakes turn up after being missing for weeks and even months so don't lose hope as, in this weather, I highly doubt your snake will be going anywhere near outside. Good luck.

i found my MD curled up in a drawer of t-shirts just below her enclosure.
she went all of 10cm, and then went to sleep.
