EWD captive climate.

Hey all. I'm having a bit of trouble setting up a proper temperature gradient for a EWD.
Im pretty sure i need about 30' c at the hot end and about 26'c at the cool end where my water is. This isn't happening.
My enclosure is 1800x600x600 mm (LxDxH) All 12mm thick glass. At the cool end is 600x600mm of water. At the hot end i have a 100 watt ceramic heat emitter. Above this is a 3' reptacera 8.0 tube which sits above flyscreen. I can only get a reading of about 25'c at this hot spot and wonder if my ventilation causes most of the heat loss, and if an additional heat source will counter this. In the cool spot it drops to around 20'c
On the other hand my house is only about 18'c most of the time until late spring. Will the EWD's be happy with 25'c now while it's spring and then get warmer temps in summer.
Please guys and gals tell me what you think. I don't want to put a poor EWD in their and have him freezing his tail off.
Thanks look forward to what you think.

Serpentes - Are you using a temperature gun? I think you will find with a 100W globe your basking surface temperature will be well over 25c...your ambient will be lower as a result of the mesh top...

The simple way to keep the warmth up is to put plywood over the frames for the mesh with a gap left for the fluoro to sit in - you will get the desired temperatures VERY easily...

All dragons are heliotherms. This means although the ambient temperature outside might be 20 degrees centigrade a dragon in the sun can heat up to 30 degrees. This is vastly different to 20 degrees ambient temperature inside a house. I'd check the temperatures again to see if they are at their recommended levels.
