Feed live or frozen???

i have an atherton python.. 2m long.. feeding adult rats.
should i buy frozen or feed live?

u should buy frozen. But some snakes eat only live. just try. cause live mite have worms ect...

You are better feeding frozen as live rats can attack your snake and cause injuries and somtimes death.

thawed frozen is best, as murray say's, injury to your snake is best avoided

generally speaking, would a snake only being feed on frozen food have a more docile temperament than a snake on live food?

Makes no difference, the feeding response is not the same as the defence response. Contrary to popular opinion, there are very few snakes that won't take thawed food with a bit of waiting and encouragement, in fact many snakes prefer it. Thawed or fresh killed is always to be preferred.

just chuck in a semi dazed mouse/rat that way it still moves/breathes but just doesnt have the power to fight back... i found that the most effective way of feeding my fussy youngins

and i know for a fact my coastal hatchling prefers still breathing as i have tried using thawed pinkys and he would strike and retreat everytime, the second i put in a pinky with movement BAM he smashes it... could be outside influences (tongs/my hand) scaring him off the thawed but at the end it still eats the live ones
