Feeding 2yr Old MD Pythons???

Ok, so just another feeding question here?? I've read sooooo many threads on feeding till my eyes hurt! We have a male and a female Murray Darling Carpet Python, both of them are two years old. Was feeding them once a week, but we feel that they are growing very fast, and starting to look a tad tubby? What are peoples' ideas on a feeding regime for 2yr old Pythons. Should we cut back to once a fortnight now?? Would like ideas from "more" experienced keepers if possible thanks. Cheers Cheryl

if its getting fat i would go every 2 weeks if they are a healthy weight i would feed them once a week so they get to a good breeding size

Hi liasis, we haven't even thought about breeding this pair yet. I will give them a weigh tomorrow. What weight do you think they should be at 2yrs 3mths old??? Thanks and Cheers Cheryl

I don't think anyone could give you an exact weight. If you feel they are a little heavy then drop them down to fortnightly feeds. It certainly won't harm them and it will increase their life expectancy.

Ok MrBredli, you've been on here for quite a while, so will take your recommendation in hand, and leave em for another 7 days now before feeding. (Its 7 days since last feed). I reckon they are getting too big, too fast in my book. Boof(m) is coming up for shed anyway, so I guess he won't eat. But then he's a guts, little bugga! Cheers and thanks Cheryl
