feeding my new arrival

Hi everyone, just got a quick question about my coastal.
Shes approx 12months old and we've now had her for 2 days.
I was wondering when i should give her a feed?
The place where i got her said she was due for a feed this weekend.
Thanks

approx 10 - 14 days after you got her, let her settle in and dont handle her much untill you feed her. 2 days after you feed her then you can handle her

It's up to the individual really, I offer most of my new arrivals a feed a day or so after I get them. No offense to anyone else but I can see no real reason to wait 2 weeks to offer food. If they accept food then that's fine and if they refuse leave it a few days and try again.
I've never had anything that has needed 2 weeks to settle in, snakes basically eat, crap and sleep and in my experience not much upsets that routine.

Well I did say no offense to anyone else and do what works. A stressed animal wont usually feed so I guess all mine are pretty laid back

I think i might actually agree with you Boa,

I really dont think it makes little difference if you feed them the same day you get them or wait for a week or so.

But i have found that some arent keen to eat for a good few days for what ever reason.

So if it doesnt eat for you right away, i wouldnt be too worried.

Matt

I've never understood why people do that, just because we don't agree on hybrids or exotics or whatever doesn't mean we can't agree on other things.

I have had snakes eat the day they arrived at my place. I usually offer a feed right away, most take it. Those that don't get a feed offered again a few days later. *shrug*
