Freezing will knock off most of your nasties, but won't help with the posion.

I guess the point of it is, there are that many points against it to not risk your animals.

Build a rodent rack, get some breeders and you will have heaps of food at next to nothing...

bugsy , WILD and CAPTIVE are like chalk and chesee, like what has been said is it really worth it? ok if you cant and i mean CANT get food for your snake go for it what else can you do ? but you will need to worm and possible have blood taken twice a year and tested by a vet ....reptile boy dont do it , get yourself a cat to deal with your mice plage, i mean now that you told the whole street your infested with mice you gota do somthing?

Yeah, but the survival rate from hatchy to adulthood for wild snakes is nowhere near the survival rate for snakes bred in captivity!

PythonPit, i just built a rack pretty much exactly the same as the one in that first link, great design hey...
Its so hard to get the right sized rodents at reasonable prices where i am, now i have constant supply for nothing, everyone should have one IMO

great , do you use water bottles or auto water system??

Water bottles atm, but been looking at getting the components for a system. Have heard that watering systems are great for increasing production. I do whatever maitenance is needed every day and stock lightly anyway so its not a big deal right now.

I was looking at either piglet watering valves or poultry valves the other day, they are cheap but i wasnt sure if they would work or not....

As jungle said, freezing will take off most if not all of the bugs, ect... It's your choice reptile boy if you want to, as your neighbours have said that they dont use any bait.

i had a supplier tell me that the pig ones leak about 100 mls a day , so i dont think thay will be any good , chicken ones mite work ,, were did you see them ? cheers

GV reptiles sell the ones you found but dont sell the whole unit complete

Yeah i couldnt figure it all out, when i go to do it i might ask someone on a US site for a link, they get all the good accessories over there...
