fussy eater

ok i have 3 snakes, 2 are on rats already, one is still on mice and growing ever so slowly so going to try to get her on rats, now i know she dont like them cause ive tried, been told to soak the rat in chicken noodle soup (anyone ever done this with success)?

what im wanting to know is, how long can i leave her without a feed before i offer a rat, i figure if i leave her for a while without feeding she might just take the rat when offered to her

cheers in advance

tracey

Snakes can go for months with out feed with out any problem. Actually in most cases this is only benefit for animal to have some periods with out feeding.
In nature pythons are lucky to get 3-4 feeds per year.

I had same problem with my coastal and I used cotton string to tie small mice to head of juvie rat. After few tricks like this, snake started to feed on rats no problem.
