I have pmd the person i got them off and asked them to have a look at the pictures to get there thoughts also.

I have seen this occur before with Milli.....particularly juveniles. Fluid will build up underneath and eventually it will be more noticeable...it is currently in the very early stages. I would administer a low dosage of antibiotics by placing droplets on the snout for a 3-5 day period. Eventually it will dry and peel off and leave a perfect looking eye underneath. This can be a common issue with Ring Tails....adults or juveniles. As long as things are followed correctly as per antibiotics then all will be fine.
This is not a birth defect or cataracts........it is simply an infection in its early stages. |

Its imperative that the vet is fully consulted on the size of the specimen to be treated and that the minimal required dosage is administered correctly. Long term useage can be detremental, and possibly cause organ failure.....so make sure you dont accidentally over dose.
I am not a vet.......so your consultation will determine the needed requirements. |

This is not a birth defect or cataracts........it is simply an infection in its early stages. | The fact the eyes were initially cloudy does not rule out either an early infection or a congenital deformity. Its current appearance suggests that it is actually a later stage corneal injury as the corneal tissue is becoming what we called sequestered. Oral antiobiotics may have little effect as the infection (if one is present at all) will be walled off and unaccessible to the systemic circulation. A minimum treatment period of 7-14 days is recommended as visible improvement sdies not imply that the treatment is completed (7 days past visible improvement is the basic rule). The primary role of antibiotic ointment is to suppress resident bacteria long enough for healing to take place and supply lubrication. It is very important that a medication that is water soluble and does not contain corticosteroids is used. This is why I prefer to use silver sulphadiazine in geckos. A combination of Silver Suplhadiazine and enrofloxacin can be used (Baytril otic). |

I will copy and paste your thoughts and give them to my vet also, as he has not had much experience with geckos. Although he treats quite a few snakes and dragons.
I have just had another look at the gecko and at the moment what ever it is, is back to being very small like a human sty.
It gets enlarged and cloudy during its awake period, which i guess would be because it is active and maybe irritating the eye by using it.
I do appriciate your thoughts and comments as i have not been able to find a vet near to me that has had much experience with geckos.
Thanks

One of my baby marms has a very small white dot on both its eyes. For about 3 days now.
and
It has always had lighter looking eyes compared to the other baby, well not lighter but more milky looking if that makes sense, but it has only been in the last couple of days that it has become really obvious, thats why i thought it might have been going blind.

Poor baby gecko.
Good luck in finding the correct analysis and method of treatment.
There have been a couple very knowledgeable responses in here that will hopefully lead to the improvement of your baby gecko. |
