Hey all

How long is a red spot lamp meant to last for if you have it on 24 hours a day. Mine just died and i have only had it for 3 and a half months.

That is a pretty good stretch to get out of it.

That is about 2500hours for an incandescent. Most will only last 1000hrs

So yeah that is bout right

There life is also a factor of the environment, like a real hot enclosure will have more bulbs blow than a cooler more ventilated area.

Thermostats can change life, and even vibrations and wiring.

my last few have lasted:

3 seconds
30 seconds
and 3.5 weeks...


but ive had others previously last for over 9 months

I'm VERY impressed with mine. Its lasted over 5 mths running 24hrs a day on a dimmer. Obviously the dimmer is whats kept it going since the filament isn't getting its sudden heating and cooling.
