Question Hatchie hasn't defecated in a week

Hi,

Just wondering if this is normal as she is due for another feed today. No signs of stress, everything else seems fine. I fed her 2 fuzzies last week Friday and there's no sign of poop.

Any input will be appreciated.

Cheers,
Maia

hey there,
you your hatchie is fine. its quite normal for it to occur. i have a 2 and a half year old bredli that didnt poo for three weeks after i fed him! turned out he was bout to shed, and when he did he also pood(inside hes shed)
So just wait maybe a couple for days for feeding. Thats all i could recommend? any one else?
although has your snakey been sitting in the hot spot for its food to digest?if it hasnt it may take a little longer for it to defecate?

Thanks everyone. Sometimes it's better to check, just to be on the safe side!

I spoke recently about this on another site and have learnt that the poop you see isn't from their last feed. You'll find that it is from a feed weeks prior. So don't be fooled - like I was - into thinking that they eat then **** end of story. It doesn't work like that. If you notice swollen lumps growing in them, then need to be concerned that something could be wrong. So be sure he has a nice warm spot so his food can digest

Thanks, she doesn't have any visible lumps so it's all good!

I also really appreciate that information, any additional links on it will be a great help as I would like to understand their digestive process a little more!

Quite often a young snake may not defecate at all, or only pass a very small amount of waste. This is simply because the snake is using all of the rat/mouse for growth.
