Hi everyone,
Just a quick question for those that have shelving type hatchling setups with rows of click clacks heated by a heat cord (or other heat source).
Do you provide a day & night temperature? Or do you just provide the 1 temp? (if so, what temp do you provide?)
thanks for your help,
Lockie

the 1 constant temp is what i run for the 1st 12 months to keep a good feeding cycle going. Then cycle the day night temps from there.

Just another quick question - i know that size restrictions for enclosures dont really apply for pythons under 12 months old - but is a 32cm long x 18cm wide x 10cm high click clack big enough for a hatchling from the time it hatches, up to 12 months old? I checked ultimate reptiles, and their click clack is 9.5cm high... so i'm guessing it would be okay?

If you can get a longer tub its easier to create a temperature gradient from front to back. We use 400mm long; 200mm wide 100mm high with 100mm hgeat tape at the back. heat cord would be fine but harder to install. If you can get tubs without legs the heat transmits better. most tubs have 1-2 mm lugs which keep them off the floor and get caught when you slide them. I used to gringd them off flat but ended up importing vision tubs from America. Jason has made it easy and now stocks V15 tubs.

Is there much of a difference between sitting the hatchling container on the heat cord/tape, or mounting the heat cord on the back wall, and pushing the container up against it?

Heat rises so it is much morev effective under the tub.

heating the back wall would not be the best option IMO
if you place it under the tub they can sit directly on the heat as they need it .
