i am wanting to heat a garden shed that houses my cricekts. i need to keep the temp about 30C. I have power to the shed but i am wanting to use a general light that i can buy from Bunnings.
if anyone can help then thats would b great thanx. |

the heat mats... wont they cost more than the bulbs? |

You will need some mighty big globes to heat a shed that size, if you must heat the whole shed go with an oil heater there not that expensive and dont need regular replacement.

well what would u guys suggest to heat the crickets? they r in 140L tubs on wheels at the moment. the incubation box is slightly smaller.
i am open to suggestions. |

Depending on how many tubs you are trying to heat, a 6 or 9 metre heat cord would do the trick - cheap to buy ($30 - $40ish depending on the length), and cheap to run - 50W and 80W respectively. |

|  | #44-9aCustom#GR-094 Subscriber | Join Date: Apr-06 Location: Out the Back of Queensland and a bit more Age: 99 | | | | I bought some heat cord the other week and my woodies are loving it. bit cold before and lost a few and very little breeding, however with the heat cord all back on track. just gave them three passes underneath the tubs wiht the cord and thats enough to warm them up nicely. as others said cheap to run, whilst an oil heater uses up to 25 times the power. Long run.....heatcord wins handsdown.
