Help Big Bredli's

Hi peoples,
I recently purchased two bredli's which to me are huge! 7ft I bought them as my first breeding project,
the problem is they aren't the most friendly snakes on earth and if i touch them they will bite me, at least the male anyway.I have accepted this (while trembling) But my question is with snakes this old, 5yrs will they get better with time/handling, and does anyone have any tips on how i should go about it.
Thanks in advance.

Nick

4 times a week, 15-20mins at a time and they should get better

Thanks Mayo, Do you think a leather glove is in order, or is the pain not that severe?

They'll probably always be defensive whilst in their cages. If you get them out of their cages with a hook then handle them (with your hands) i'm sure they will be fine.

lol this is clasic... you bought a pair of adult snakes without knowing there temperments, and i know it takes one to know one so ill say your a little inexperianced with the bigger snakes so its going to be a bit of a learning curve for ya, good luck and I hope you get results

P.S. the bites of a snake is more of a mental thing really as they only have fine teeth and relativly weak jaw pressure (compared to say a dog bite) but im sure it easier to get bitten by the dog

Indeed.. a bite from an adult bredli is no fun at all.

If you plan on breeding them just leave them alone and only handle them when necessary eg. cage cleaning. You will get better breeding results .

I'd hook them.
A bite from a 7' bredli is not a fun thing, I got smashed on the wrist and it was basically like having a sprained wrist for several days.

Yeah i dont really plan on holding them all the time, i have smaller nicer snakes for that, But sometimes it's neccesary. The cage i got with them is great for cleaning though as they have big hide boxes at the end so i can just wait till they're in there and block it off.
Thanks for all the replies.
