This morning when I looked at him I noticed quite a large drop of what looks like puss near his mouth and when I pickied him up the skin under his neck looks saggy and loose.
Did I injure him by giving him a big rat too soon?
His whole body down to his anal scale looks swolen, obviously this is part due to the fact he has a big rat in him, i would not be too worried if he did not have that drop near his mouth. |

What ended up happening however, was a bubbly thin snotty like liquid was regurged. Not the entire rat and no solids at all. It was an extremely interesting situation, and one the owner learnt a good lesson from. The little snake is no longer handled after a feed.

| Snakes don't have a diaphragm I think to hold the water down so it's more that it just kinda pours out . But if it had yucky stuff in it it doesn't sound like just water from drinking. The puffiness down to the vent could just be that he needs to go to the toilet but given that there was something coming from his mouth it'd be safer to take him to a vet. Good luck |

Do you have a camera to take a photo of what you are calling 'puss' would be interested to see. | | | |
