i have young olive about 2 years old in a 6x2x2 but i wouldnt say it could live in that for the rest of its life...when mine gets bigger im looking at making an enclosure around 8x4x4, but that wont be for a while i guess and i still have to work out the how its going to be heated.

The general rule is that a snake will be fine in an enclosure 1/2 it's length - running off that theory you will have no problems with an olive in a 6x2x2...

half the snakes length would be the very bare minimum

Agreed, definately should be considered a minimum, but in saying that, how many Olives crack 12ft?

If nothing else a 6x2x2 will last it a few years regardless...if it cracks 10ft maybe look for something larger...
