Well as the title says i need a recipe for a mite treatment. He is a rescue and i don't really want to release him when he is invested in mites. Hes in an outdoor enclosure so changing the substrate wont be an idea.
I cant get any mite treatment in my town and i don't really want to get my mum to drive to adelaide to get one thing.
If you have any please post.

If he's in an outdoor enclosure there is practically nothing you can do. You can treat him but there will still be mites in the enclosure so you will do nothing to get rid of them, although you may provide some relief for a short time. Buy some Top of Descent from www.herpshop.com, treat him and keep him indoors, that is all you can do.

Yes, very uncomfortable... like fleas on a dog.

can you get a big click clack storage container (making sure not to spread mites) and then treat him while in the click clack!

Believe it or not but they are gone! I went to check on him again and they were all gone. I gave him a bath to get rid of all the white dust. Is there a reason why? Is it because the temperature was about 41 today?

Get the last Reptile Australia Mag - it's got a article on mite treatment. And temperature was one of the treatments.

I will ask if i can get it. You dont need to have a license for stumpys. I do have a rescue permit for the stumpy though. You need a rescue permit for every thing you rescue. SO if you rescue 200 birds(example) you would need a rescue permit per bird.

Your alternative is to but the predatory mite hypoaspis miles from Biological Services in Loxton Victoria. These predators are ideal for outdoor enclosures. The predator mite eat all stages of the snake mites, eggs adults and larva. These are more commonly used in the USA, but are increasingly being adopted in this Country.
If your in NSW you can get them from Anthony Stimpson (he is the agent for the beneficial bug company, producing these mites).
It can be expensive but very effective for those against the use of chemical treatments.
