If it was me asking this question i would first study the climate of the area/ region for the type of snake you have , as it lives in that particular area for a reason , you have to replicate its environmental tempertaure, do this and i cant see why you would have any problem . what might be to cold or hot for you is probably very comfortable for your snake depending on where it comes from.

Mate pythons need a certain amount of heat to digest their food.
If the animal is sick and brings up what it's eaten within a few days it is because it was to cold.
I also live in Qld " Beautiful one day PERFECT the next"
