hi,
i have a 12mth old diamond and i cant get him off pinkies. he is comfortably eating 2 or 3 pinkie rats at a time but everytime i give him a fuzzie he takes it but then a few minutes later spits it out again! ive tried starving him for a couple of weeks but he still wont eat them. im started to get worried as the diamond at the pet store i get my rats from is the same age, alot bigger and is on sub - adults!

have you tried live, braining them, scenting it with a lizard or putting it in a glass of chicken stock?

Starve the snake for a month or two then try him again. Think it should keep the food item you give it out of hunger

ive tried starving him but i think its that he physically cant eat it. but im worried that if i keep him on pinkies his head wont grow and he'll never be able to eat them

I had the same problem. What I did was just look for pinkies that are slightly bigger than what I previously gave. When you get them frozen in packs there is usually a slight to big difference in size in pinkies and fuzzies too.

Start feeding him more pinkies in the same feeding. Instead of 2 or 3 try feeding 4 or 5. Keep feeding him once a week but more pinkies at the time of feeding. He will grow, then be able to to take bigger food items.

i always give him as many as he will eat. sometimes he will take a third but most of the time only 2. i think ill just keep feeding as many as he'll eat and get trying the fuzzies every mth or so. i guess he will take it one day. hes eating i suppose thats the main thing |

where on the gold coast do you buy your rodents?
pinky to fuzzy is usually a pretty easy transaction...
but you have to find the right size ones..

How big is he?? Diamonds are a pain in the bum sometimes, I have a 6 foot female who only eats mice. She hates even the smell of a rat. If you like, I breed rats and mice and would be willing to help out with different sizes.
