my shingleback has been shedding for about a week now, how long should it take? and is there anything to do to help it? i know with snakes you put bowls of water in for them to soak in but as shinglebacks shouldnt get wet im assuming this is not a good idea any suggestions or just let him be and do it all by himself

Should only take a day or so, you'll probably need to assist. Soak it in a shallow dish of luke warm water and work the skin off gently. Make sure to get it all off the feet and toes. Dry him off and leave the heatlamp on for at least a couple of hours when you return it to the enclosure. I use a flexible lampstand fitted with a reflector lamp to keep em warm during the process, but its a bit risky, electricity and water aren't a great combination.

put it in a tub of luke warm water and pull the shed off.pull downwards not upwards.it will take a while.make sure you get it all off from around it's feet and toes.dry it off with a towel when you're done.hope this helps.
cheers dave

If you have your heating/humidity balance correct a shingleback can shed it's skin in one piece like a snake, as can Blotched Blueys. The act of shedding should only take about 15-20 minutes.
Here's a Blotched Bluey skin.
