HI, im getting an adult pair of macs and im building an enclosure and its 90cm long 75 high but im making it in half so they will each get one about 30cm high... but to heat them? cause i cant put lights on the bottom one so how could i heat them? i was thinkin one one side straight down the bak put a heat matt on the back wall (yea with sumthing covering it..) or should i like try put lights in the sides n would that be ok?
or should i halv it down the middle? then i could put lights in but do they climb?

if you can make it a bit bigger that would be better..... that size is a bit small in my opinion for adult macs!
for 1 its not too bad, but certainly not to halve for an adult pair!
also for heating, i would use a heatmat on the floor on a thermostat.....

k thanks yea ill make it bigger.. so just use 2 seperate heat matts on the bottom of each? n if i do that what can i cover it with? like if i just used newspaper it could get to hot if they get under the paper n like directly on the matt? or would that be fine? thanks |

in my stimmi tanks i have a heatmat in each and i put a tile over them.... then the newspaper.... the tile disperses the heat nicely, holds it for a while once the heat goes off and stops any hassle of the snakes sitting directly on the mat if they decide to go under the paper....

Heat Panels available from the Herp Shop would go alright, the surface does get pretty hot though so you will probably need some sort of cage around them.
