I've only had to use it once but this is what I did. Removed all water containers and sprayed the snakes (kind of misted them) while they were still in their enclosures. I also sprayed around the enclosures and kind of misted the whole snake room. I waited for about 10-15 minutes then took all the snakes out of their enclosures, removed their substrate and threw away all their hide boxes. Cleaned down the enclosures with disenfectant and gave a final wipe down with warm water. Put clean substrate (newspaper) and put the snakes back in. I repeated this process in a couple of weeks. I have not seen any mites on my snakes since, and I've kept a really close eye on them. Only 2 of my snakes had mites (that I could see), but I treated all as a precautionary measure.

This may not be the best way, but it seemed to work in my case. No ill effect was noted in any of the snakes.

hi, remove the water bowl, you then spray into the enclosure leaving the snake in the enclosure. yyou treat the enclosure and snake at the same time, make sure you spray into the corners, close the doors and leave it for a while before replacing the water. do you have a mite problem?.
hope that helps.
cheers.

Mist the enclosure and there is no need to spray directly onto the snake. It's amazing how far TOD spreads. Make sure you remove their water container - take them out of the room completely before you spray.

the reason why they come back is due to the reproductive cycle.

You need to complete the process every two weeks as this is the breeding cycle

If you do a bit of search on the web you will find full write ups on it all

noidea,
Like alot of keepers I persisted with TOD to try and deal with mites. It is good for controling mites but would not eradicate them.
I had a mite problem for over 6 months in my collection and could not get rid of them. I used Top Of Descent as well as bird mite sprays and within a few weks the mites would be back. ONE spray of a diluted 1:10 mix of Orange Medic to the snakes and cages and the mites were gone and have not had a single sign of them in over 2 years now.
