yeah it should work ok. depends on the size of the enclosure though. 275 watts would be too much for a small enclosure.

You would cook it! I like my snakes raw thankyou.

ETA: Just realised you said beardies....
What for? Are your beardies from a climate that get's that hot in nature? O_o

Waste of electicity in my opinion. Just get a lower wattage bulb from Bunnings and put it closer to the animals.

Maybe in a large monitor enclosure, but otherwise it's probably overkill. Plus it'll kill your power bill

IMO there is no need to use something so powerful for beardies. A 100 watt halogen would be heaps or 150 watt infrared or standard type. They are very good lights for heating large goannas, i cant see them being much use for anything else though.

Use spotlights(thats what i meant in my last post), halogens are best. Ceramics arnt ideal for basking spots because they dont direct the heat like a spotlight does.

Emski..... 35 degrees for a hot end is fine.....

You dont need it any hotter than that.....

How big is your enclosure? And whats the cool end temp?

The prefered body temperature is around 37C, so you should really have basking temperatures above that. They will no doubt live in lower temperatures but its best to provide optimum conditions.
