IR Temp Guns on eBay

Don't know if eBay links are allowed here, and not trying to annoy the site's sponsors, but if you're after an IR Temp Gun, go to eBay Australia and search
HI-TECH NON-CONTACT IR INFRARED DIGITAL THERMOMETER GUN

It took me 3 days, but I finally scored 1 for $40.00 + $10.00 shipping.

Enjoy!

Mods - if I have crossed the line with this post, please delete & accept my apologies.

No worries - I'm happy to put up a 'mini-review' when it arrives.

I got a new digitech model from ebay. Its the same as the Herpshop sells only it measures from -50 to 500 degrees.

PS,
The cheaper HI-TECH guns that you are talking about have a -+ 4 degree accuracy.

I've had one of those cheap ones for a while now and it seems alright to me, not the same quality as a $150+ one but what do you expect, it still does the job.

J&C_R, I'll have to do some more tests check its accuracy, it seemed about right but I didn't check it too thoroughly.

According to this products www this gun has "[ Between -1 to 200˚C : ±2˚C]"

For $50, in an amatuers herp room, you can't go wrong. You can learn alot about temps of your reptiles with one of these.

I understand that if you want to test temps for incubation etc you would use something a little more accurate. I actually use a professional Cheif's Temp rod. It is a long stainless steel rod , approx 15cm (like a kebab stick) with a thermometer at the end. It was $20 from a hospitality supplier.

RE: Re: RE: IR Temp Guns on eBay

I was a pastry chef so I have about 5 more accurate ones I picked up here and there but for a quick check of various positions around the cage nothing beats the guns I reckon.

Edit: Glimmerman, from memory I think you're right about the gun's specifications unless they're talking about another one.
