Angry

This my first reply as i have only just joined, but a mate of mine had the same thing happen.
Heard of an idiot that had an MD in a tub for 2 or so years with no heating, substrate etc in a back room with full sun and only got it out to show his mates when he was pissed.
Told him he was gonna take the snake or he was gonna bash him and take the snake, luckily the tool took the 1st option and i now have a happy, healthy python(after 6 or so months of tlc), has shed twice since i got him and is a very gentle fellow, hasnt even looked at biting me or my 3year old son who adores him.
Hope your predicament has a happy ending...........

Vets and wildlife groups have no policing authority, they cannot remove animals or even enter premises without permission. For neglected/abused domestic animals call the rspca or call your local parks and wildlife service for native animal issues. Both these bodies have the power to pull the police in and get a raid happening

As for your flatmate, kick him in the balls and give him a bill for your costs once you've tended to the snake's needs.
agreed.

My 2 cents worth ..... Four simple steps....

Take photos of the conditions + size of the enclosure ... (for proof)
Take snake to RSPCA .
Smash ensclosure.
Tell friend to F off.

Reading that makes me sick.
Do not sit around and let that happen to any animal.

Oddly enough his snake escaped the same day that I rang the rspca for advice. I then took his old enclosure. My flatmate does not want to get another snake again, realising he doesn't have the time for pets. And frankly if the snake comes back I won't be mentioning it to him.

well it is a good ending that your mate wont get another, however it is annoying that the snake couldnt get treatment before it had left.
oh well lets hope its having a better life then what it did with your flatmate!
