Is my Beardie okay???

Hey all ive noticed some whitish scales on my beardies head. At first i thought it was left from the last shed but it now seems to be spreading.

They seem kind of thicker than his normal scales, i've bathed him to try and soften it but as it's on top of his head it difficult to give a proper soak. It's been about a 4-6 weeks since the last shed so i guess he could be due another soon, but it does'nt really look like it's pre-shed stuff..

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated

Thanx
Ben

it dose look a little weird. They almost look to be slightly swollen.
It could be because he is due for a shed. My beardies shed in bits and pieces. My male normally starts with his head.
If your worried take him to the vet.

not too much to worry about it will shed off if you are worried about not being able to give it a proper soak you can get a skin conditioning/shedding aid spray to help remove the skin

Hope it all turns out fine
Matt

Hello

Hello,
Yes, the heads sometimes tend to get a little thick & take a little longer to come off especially as they get a little older. He will be fine.

My beardie had that odd whiteness around the top of his nose also. I thought it was some fungal infection, but sure enough he shed it eventually. For some reason the old skin turns very silver at that spot - in fact just now my guy's nose is getting that silver tinge once more.
