If he's curling up and sleeping during the day i would say that might be a bit odd. They will often bask with their eyes closed during the day, but to curl up and sleep is a bit different.

Try replacing the rock with a log which is on somewhat of a vertical slant. I'd also recommend getting yourself a Magic Eye thermostat so that you have a decent temperture drop during the night. You could set it at 15-20 degrees during the night which will prevent him from 'freezing', although in the wild they are subjected to extremely cold nights so i doubt you'd have problems if you had no night time heating, as long as he has somewhere warmish to hide during the night (i.e. under a rock that has been heated during the day, which will retain some heat into the night).

During the hottest days in the wild, Beardies will often become crepuscular, meaning they are active early morning and during the early part of the night, whilst escaping from the searing heat during the day. Perhaps your Beardie is starting to follow this form of behaviour due to the warm temps throughout the night?
