lost snake

i have just lost my 6month old cildrens python overnight.... i live in a fairly open hhouse with "jungle" either side and cat ... i fear for its safety how can i find something small in something so big in a small time? is patience and persistance the key?

Maybe put towels against doors so he can't get under but otherwise wait it out, they normally go to a dark warm place, so ppl have said stereo speakers, under there actual homes because it is still warm.

often they will find ice comfortable high places like curtian rails, shelves book cases. I'd keep the cat secured as they are good snake catchers. Best of luck in your search.

Under the fridge is a good spot to look, at this time of year it probably will stay inside looking for some warmth. Set up a few hides with heat mats and mouse scent around the house before you go to bed and check around with a torch at night. GOOD LUCK!

i have put baby powder along skirting boards and closed the front and back doors.... set up a piece of mice tube on a heat mat in a corner... how long has any of you guys lost a snake for and found it?

A friend of mine lost two adult childrens, found one the following summer ( a year later) in the kitchen, but the other one was never found, but the next door neighbor saw a spotted snake under their house that fits the description about two weeks ago (two years later) but there was that much >>>> under the house they couldn't find it.

where abouts are you kwaka? assuming your not in the tropics... your house will be alot warmer than the surrounds so your childrens probably wont venture too far.

I lost my Stimsoni, but was lucky enough to find it a couple of days later not far away hiding in a drawer. We had been searching high & low for him, and had looked in the drawer a few times already, and when we found him we were going into the drawer to get something out, and he was just there.

They normally don't venture too far, and will look for somewhere small, dark & warm, but will come out to look for food.

haha mate i live on the "sunshine coast" queensland, i wouldnt be surprised if its out the door... im looking for a new childrens python (preferably male 3 - 6 months old) and if i find him again you beauty hes got a mate.

I lost a Childrens for 6 months, then found it again ontop of the other reptile cabinates!!!

Friends found their missing maccie hatchling when their neighbours knocked on their door and asked them to identify 'something' that was wrapped around a chess piece on top of the neighbours TV. This was a couple of days after it went missing.

I lost mine last week mate. I looked everywhere and could not find him then put a couple of thawed micve around the unit and then went out for a few hours and came home to find him sitting on the box with tthe mouse in it. I'd recommend it as a good method of finding him.

Im getting a childrens python thats 6months old it is my first snake and i have a glassed bottom cage... i was wondering how many sheets of newspaper shoul i put down for him?? and is it ok to stick the edges down with duct tape?

kwaka, didn't you post the above yesterday? So you got the childrens python either yesterday afternoon or evening and you've lost it by this morning?

maybe you should do some research on how to properly take care of a reptile and how to house it correctly before you even think of getting another one.
