|  | Regular Member | Join Date: Oct-07 Location: sydney Gender:  | | | I think i got a dud but i got home today and checked my enclousures as usual and my bhps hot spot was sitting at 47 degrees!, i have a thermostat prob going through the wall on the groun inside the hide on his hot spot and the thermostat light was still on.... my thermometre probe which is right next to it read 30 degrees
my bhp was still sitting on the hot spot and thankfully was a loaf of bread, so i took him out and grab a hide and hes now in that next to me... is there anything i should do... he feels very hot but he was still sitting on the spot? he ate yesturday

he missed twice so i put a cloth over his head and put him in the enclousure (it had cooled down and i removed heat matt etc from underneath) then he was still striking at me from inside his enclousure,
really worried for his health

i called urs and they said send the thermostat back and we will replace it, i really dont care about replacing a stupid thermostat, im absolutely in love with that black head

|  | Regular Member | Join Date: Oct-07 Location: sydney Gender:  | | | | mate thats why i have a thermometre i have done numerous checks with it to get it at the right temp and wat i set it at is generally between 28 - 30, even if someone did run by weat the thermostat says, i dont think anyone one would buy em if they got that high?, there mean to max out at 35 anyways i know im never going to be able to comfortably use a microclimate thermostat again...

|  | Subscriber | Join Date: Oct-06 Location: north coast NSW Age/Gender: 24  | | | Out of the many microclimates I have had, 3 have died recently. 2 got zapped/fried (by a direct lightening hit that incidentally blasted the powerline transformer into smithereens with bits 200m away down the paddock  ) and the other stopped dimming. It was on my ackie enclosure - luckily they didn't care about it being a little warmer.
